JamiiBora is a platform for running welfare groups and chamas — collecting contributions via M-Pesa, managing claims and disbursements, and giving every member visibility into how the group's money is handled.
JamiiBora supports both welfare models. Choose the one that matches how your group operates:
Insurance-backed — the group collects contributions and forwards verified member and payment data to an insurance partner, who pays out approved claims.
Direct disbursement — the group pays approved claims straight from its own pool, with every payout requiring sign-off from two separate admins before it can be released.
Members pay their contribution directly from their phone via M-Pesa STK Push. The payment is confirmed automatically once Safaricom processes it — no screenshots or manual entry needed — and shows up on the group's dashboard in real time.
A member submits a claim with supporting documents from the app. The group's Claims Officer reviews and approves or rejects it. For direct-disbursement groups, a second, distinct admin must also approve the payout before funds are released — a hard rule, not an option the group can turn off.
Yes. Contribution reminders, payment confirmations, and claim decisions are all sent by SMS, so members without a smartphone or email address stay informed automatically.
You're logged in and able to explore JamiiBora right after you register — your group just sits in pending approval until our team reviews and approves it, at which point you can finish your group profile and start inviting members.
Every contribution, claim, and disbursement is written to an append-only audit log — nobody, including JamiiBora staff, can edit or delete it after the fact. Give your Auditor role read-only access and they can verify everything themselves, independent of the treasurer.
